Sustainable flexible packaging specialist Eco Flexibles has underlined its reputation for operational excellence after its recent unannounced BRCGS Packaging Materials audit saw it awarded AA+ certification – the highest grade possible.
The flexible packaging specialist’s latest achievement came after the auditor found only one minor non-conformance report (NCR) during their time on-site. As a result, Eco Flexibles’ rating was upgraded from the AA certification it achieved in 2025. Under the BRCGS Packaging Materials Issue 7 standard, AA+ certification can only be attained through an unannounced audit, which is a mandatory audit that takes place every three years, to ensure high standards are maintained.
David Smith, General Manager at Eco Flexibles, said “We welcomed an unannounced audit because we know the standards our team operates to. We see it every day. It’s fantastic to see their hard work and commitment to excellence rewarded with the highest possible BRCGS certification. It’s great news for us, but even better news for our customers, who know they are in the safest hands.
“We aren’t resting on our laurels, though. We’ve already started working on the feedback from our audit to aim even higher and pass our next audit with no NCRs.”
The AA+ rating is the latest achievement in a year that has seen Eco Flexibles receive awards and plaudits from across the packaging industry for its high-performance flexible packaging innovations.
